We've reached the end of the 2016 NPSL season. All in all, the NPSL has provided a fun and interesting learning experience. I chatted with Paul Scott today regarding plans for next season. I informed him that I would like to return in a similar role next season, and he said that he'd be glad to have me. Paul also gave me some advice on finding a full time position in Soccer, and offered to provide a reference for me anytime.
We have a lot to discuss this offseason. Primarily, we need to strategize ways to reduce troublesome behavior by players, coaches, even owners. This is crticial to the image of the NPSL brand, and will absolutely determine whether the league evolves into a true relegation league, or becomes just another beer league.
Next, we have some processes to improve. Timely reporting is critical in quality control, and the cumbersome methods currently in use will not allow the league to grow beyond where it is today. Simply put, the league's processes are not scaleable, and thus need to be revamped.
